Islam is same God religion as Christianity. If both have some aspects of similarity, then this is not attributed to that Islam grew out of Christianity but because both religions are from Same God.

Another answer from our community:

Islam religion is based on Quran holy book. Christianity religion is based on The Bible holy book. Both holy books, Quran and the Bible, are God revelations to his prophets Muhammad and Jesus, respectively (peace be upon them). refer to the related question on why Quran was revealed.

No, both religions share the same origin. All religions; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; are revelations from God, the Creator, the one and only one.

The three religions are called Abrahamic religions, relative to prophet Abraham (peace be upon him).

The three religions are according to God revelation to his prophets: Judaism religion is per God revelation of Torah to prophet Moses.

Christianity religion is per God revelation of Bible to prophet Jesus, and

Islam religion is per God revelation of Quran to prophet Muhammad.Peace be upon all God prophets.

Another View:

Yes, they do have different beginnings. Christianity began by God sending God the Word to mankind (see John 3:16). By begettal of God's Holy Spirit, the Word entered the physical world as Jesus the Christ - the Son of God and Son of Man. He taught peace and love and the adherence to God's Law of Love - the Ten Commands. He allowed Himself to be castigated, ridiculed and judged unfairly, receiving the penalty of death via Crucifixion - saving all mankind. God resurrected Him alone, the firstborn of many to follow. Some would date this period of history to circa 5/4 BC through 31 AD, in Israel.

Islam, on the other hand, began in circa 610 AD by Muhammad via an angelic visit. This religion does not believe Jesus to be God's son - indeed God is only one and unknowable. There are more differences between these two religions than similarities as their Holy Books clearly indicate..

non of them is the "root" of the other. Islam came with a concept of one god Allah who has no son and niether is the father of any one , He is only one and alone. (surah ikhlaq) then in the time period of Hazrat Isa (a.s) , or as u know Jesus , the people gradually made a concept that Hazrat Isa is the son of Allah tallah, this became a basic concept of christianity. hope i answered ur question

Answer 1

No, it is not.

The opposite is valid. Christianity in its original belief is part of Islam in its general sense of full submission to God. Refer to related question below.

Answer 2

No. The religions are wholly distinct. While Islam derives from a mixture of Jewish, Christian, and Arab religious traditions, it is sufficiently and fundamentally different from Christianity to establish itself as a different religion.

Some scholars believe that the Prophet Muhammad was influenced by the Jews and Christians in his midst. His cousin was a Christian, and it is said that Muhammad at first sought to be recognised by the Jews as a Prophet in Judaism. Just as it can be shown that the Bible was written by men, so some scholars say the Quran was also.

Islam arose in a milieu where Christianity and Judaism were accepted and even respected by the pagan majority, providing Muhammad the opportunity to learn the doctrines of both religions.

By the seventh century, both Christianity and Judaism had established a strong presence in southern Arabia, where Muhammad lived. His own cousin was a Christian, and he clearly knew both Christianity and Judaism, at least superficially, before he began to preach Islam. Devout Muslims believe that Islam came to Muhammad from heaven, by the angel Gabriel, but there is also credible evidence that the development of Islam was influenced by Christianity.

From a Muslim point of view, yes, because Islam began with the creation of Adam.

From a secular point of view, Islam was founded in 622 CE, after both Judaism and Christianity, so no.

no, but they are related. Islam is an offshoot of Judaism, which Christianity broke off of earlier.

Muslims believe the Bible to be a holy, but corrupted book. Islam, however, is derived from the Qur'an, the Hadith, and the Biography of the Prophet.
