There were a lot of cases that he did. He used religious acts to make people follow him and he was the main cause of the lives of the 900 people who were killed. The reporters who were seeing Guyana as themselves saw it as a happy place (not as they saw it in the news). Although some did report seeing some kinds of abuse and some people testified they wanted to return to their families. Reporters were shot by Jim Jones' bodyguards. Jim Jones told his followers going back to America will bring them into slavery and captivity. No one knows how he really died: if one of his bodyguards shot him or if he committed suicide.
