In the legend, King Arthur did not slay any dragons. He was far too busy trying to unite all of England under the rule of law, and later managing the knights in their search for the Grail.
I strongly recommend the book The Once and Future King by T. H. White; it looks large, but it is extremely readable and quite funny in places. In that version of the legend, Arthur and his stepbrother Kay have an adventure with Robin Wood in which they free one of Robin's men from the faerie folk; the group are set upon by a wyvern after the escape, but my recollection is that it is Kay who kills the wyvern, rather than Arthur.
King Arthur did not fight a dragon. In fact he is portrayed as a "do nothing king". He took long before he could fight the dragon.
Arthur had the knights of the round table and sir lancelot
his knights of round table
There's like 4 different people that King Arthur may have been inspired by. Arthnou is only one of them, and the only evidence that points to him is the inscription on the stone or whatever the hell they found. Truthfully, King Arthur was a fictious figure and wasn't particularly inspired by any king or knight in particular. Side note: the other people that are said to have been the basis for King Arthur are Lucius Artorius Castus and Riothamus.
They say that once, King Arthur was given a cape by his own sister. He suspected trickery and evil so he told his messenger to put it on first. His sister had magically poisoned the cape. King Arthur and his wife swore revenge and JUSTICE on her even if it would be the last thing they did.
The previous answer is completely false. There is no EVIDENCE to suggest that King John had any involvement in the disappearance of Arthur. It is only speculation. The most popular rumor is that King John had the boy assassinated by Lord William de Braose.
Yes, there was a dragon during the king arthur's time....because his nick name was pendragon...AKA. 'Head dragon".....there was times when king arhtur had to sord fight the dragon when the very last time he faught with the dragon King Arthur had killed the Dragon...
