her parents were jehovah witness. and she grew up in a family of jehovah witness. i don't believe she practiced it much after her career started but she did pray and all that good Church stuff so i guess she was jehovah witness.
Jehovah's Witnesses started with Abel, one of Adam and Eve's sons who was killed by Cain. The Bible may not say directly that he was a 'Jehovah's Witness', but it does say he was a witness to God.
As he died about 40 years before they started it is not likely that a contemporary relative was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. In the 167 years since his death it is, I would think, quite feasible to believe that statistically one of his descendants may be a Witness.
There were Witnesses of Jehovah God long before Jesus was on earth. Really, anyone who serves Jehovah God, is 'by-nature' one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Actually, in the Bible, Able is listed as the first Witness of Jehovah God.Even Jesus is called in Revelation as 'a faithful witness'. Therefore Jesus was also a Witness of Jehovah God.Answer: No human started Jehovah's Witnesses. Not even Jesus started it on earth. I suppose that really Jehovah God himself started it, by CREATING Humans to BE HIS WITNESSES. Jehovah didn't want Adam & Eve to be witnesses of his adversary, Satan. If you are just limiting your question to modern times - - - well, the name 'Jehovah's Witnesses, was available for anyone before 1931. But no one wanted anything to do with that name 'Jehovah'. They had all been taught to worship his son, Jesus. For many people, just the word 'Jehovah' is an aversion (meaning it makes their stomach crawl). But there was a group that called themselves 'Bible Students'. They saw that many Bible translations deleted God's personal name from their Bibles. This bothered them. So in 1931 they drew up a Resolution; and determined to being called by what they really already were, Witnesses of Jehovah God. To shorten it up, they called themselves: Jehovah's Witnesses.
The Witnesses of Jehovah organization was founded by Joseph Rutherford. Rutherford created that organization by rejecting the central teachings of Charles Taze Russell and the Bible Students. https://rlctr.blogspot.com/p/jws.html

The Jehovah's Witnesses were known as the international Bible Students. In 1931 they adopted the name of Jehovah's Witnesses. The scripture that is used to Change the name to Jehovah's Witnesses is Isaiah 43:10-12:"You are My witnesses, says Jehovah; and My servant whom I have elected; that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed; nor shall any be after Me. I am Jehovah; and there is no Savior besides Me. I declared, and I saved, and I proclaimed; and there is not an alien god among you. And you are My witnesses, says Jehovah, and I am God." -- Literal Translationa person who dreamed up an idea started it and people believe in it but they are no nearer thy god than thee.
No. The Jehovah's Witness movement was started by Charles Taze Russell in 1878, although back then they called themselves "The Bible Students". They renamed themselves when they began to go international to "The International Bible Students", but it wasn't until 1931 that they took on the name Jehovah's Witnesses under the controversial leadership of Joseph ("Judge") Rutherford.
