He just may have, but what we hear most about him is how he help with equal right for all people.
In the history of Christianity there have been thousands of reformers and they all believed different things. The "Reformation" was led/caused by Martin Luther and his primary belief was that the Bible passages that teach salvation by grace should be preferred over those Bible passages which teach salvation by works.
"accept Jesus Christ's salvation by faith" is the shortcut accepted by millions. Faith is essential but only the first step towards salvation. The false doctrine of "Faith Only" originated around 400AD, was reinforced during the Reformation and is taught in every divinity school in the US. But it is the Devil's Detour away from the doorway to salvation. Faith is taught but nothing is mentioned about repentance. Peter taught that repentance is required (Acts 2:38). He also taught that one needs to have one's sins washed away in baptism. (Without that the sins remain.) More than faith is required but faith is all that is taught. Why is that? The Prince of Confusion finds nothing better than steering people away from the Lord's salvation.

The most important doctrine for Luther was the doctrine of justification - God's act of declaring a sinner righteous. Luther came to realise that a person is justified /put right with God by faith alone through God's grace. He began to teach that salvation or redemption is a gift of God's grace, attainable only through faith in Jesus as the Messiah. Luther wrote that Christians receive such righteousness entirely from outside themselves. Righteousness not only comes from Christ but actually is the righteousness of Christ, imputed to Christians through faith.
Nothing, he got a doctor's degree, so people started calling him "Dr." Martin Luther King. :)
The year she died.(:
William Tyndale, like his friend Martin Luther, was another man who translated the Bible and thought that they could interpret it better than the Church which Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, had founded. At the time of the reformation there was a gross misunderstanding of salvation and how one attains to eternal salvation, and Tyndal, along with Luther, not understanding salvation, took the idea that works were not involved in working out one's salvation - as both the Bible and the Church clearly teach.
To not be bossed by the color of your skin and we are all equal
Counterfeit church groups that teach salvation by works rather than salvation by grace through faith are often referred to as "legalistic" or "works-based" religious movements. These groups may emphasize adherence to rules and rituals as a means of attaining salvation, diverging from the core Christian belief that salvation is a gift from God received through faith in Jesus Christ. Terms like "cults" or "heretical sects" may also be used to describe such groups, depending on their teachings and practices.
Whereas Luther preached that man was saved by his faith alone, Catholics teach that it is by faith and good works. We are justified by our faith that Jesus has saved us by his death on the cross but we are saved by our good works. As St. James says in his epistle, "Faith without good works is dead." This is reinforced by Jesus in chapter 25 of the gospel of St. Matthew which describes the final judgement.
Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again
