No they existed well before humans ever did 5-20 million years ago in the miocene & pliocene periods. They were up to 75 foot long with a mouth 12 foot wide 10 foot high the dorsal stood aprox 8 foot high and the tail fin aprox 20 foot top to bottom. They feed on whales & other sharks.

If megladon is still alive is it a threat to people?
If Carcharodon megalodon does still exist, which is unlikely, they are rare. In the case that they came across a human, they wouldn't actively hunt it. Like other sharks, they would only bite a human out of curiosity or misidentification. All in all, they would not pose much of a threat, and definitely not more than that of any other shark.
