Of course they did! Scientist have found fossils that are dated to about 600,000-350,000 years ago.

For that matter, "neanderthals" were human, Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. They are considered a subspecies... about as closely related to modern humans as dogs are to wolves, for example.

Yes, evidence suggests that Neanderthals and Homo sapiens lived alongside each other in certain regions of Europe and Asia for thousands of years, with interbreeding occurring between the two groups. However, Neanderthals eventually went extinct around 40,000 years ago.

Yes, this has already been proven. All modern humans, except for Sub-Saharan Africans, carry 1 to 4 percent Neanderthal DNA in their genome.

They lived at the same time as Homo sapiens but, not necessarily in the same area. They were thought to be more suited to colder climates while our ancestors stayed in warmer areas.

The populations could have commingled on a limited basis...DNA studies do show some Neanderthal DNA in modern people.

What was the last human species to live on earth with homo sapiens?

The last human species to live on Earth alongside Homo sapiens was Neanderthals. They coexisted with our species for thousands of years before eventually going extinct around 40,000 years ago.

What are homo sapiens and neanderthals?

Homo sapiens are the species of modern humans, while Neanderthals are an extinct species of human that lived alongside Homo sapiens in Europe and Asia. Neanderthals were known for their robust build and large brains, and genetic evidence suggests that they interbred with early Homo sapiens.

Neanderthals were probably the first early people to?

Neanderthals were not the first early humans, but they were a distinct human species that lived alongside Homo sapiens. They had a similar level of intelligence and even interbred with early humans. Neanderthals became extinct around 40,000 years ago.

In what order did the homo sapiens homo habilus homo erectus and neanthatdratal live?

The evolutionary order goes Homo habilis, Homo erectus, Neanderthals, and Homo sapiens. Homo habilis appeared around 2.8 million years ago, followed by Homo erectus around 2 million years ago, Neanderthals around 400,000 years ago, and finally Homo sapiens around 300,000 years ago.

Do Australian aborigines belong to the Neanderthal Homo sapiens or the homo sapiens sapiens?

Australian aborigines, like all modern human populations, belong to the Homo sapiens sapiens species. Neanderthals were a separate species of hominins that went extinct around 40,000 years ago.

130,000 years ago until 27,000 years ago.

Did people evolve from neanderthals?

No, Neanderthals and modern humans shared a common ancestor but evolved separately. Neanderthals are a distinct human species that lived in Europe and Asia before going extinct around 40,000 years ago. Modern humans, Homo sapiens, evolved in Africa and migrated out of the continent, eventually spreading and replacing Neanderthals.

Describe the branch of direct ancestors to modern humans?

The branch of direct ancestors to modern humans is known as the hominin lineage. It includes various species such as Ardipithecus, Australopithecus, and early members of the genus Homo. These ancestors evolved over millions of years to eventually give rise to Homo sapiens, or modern humans.

Did Neanderthals appear on Earth first?

Neanderthals appeared on Earth before modern Homo sapiens, with fossil evidence suggesting they existed between 400,000 and 40,000 years ago. They inhabited Europe and parts of Asia, coexisting with modern humans for a period of time before going extinct.

What comes after neanderthal?

After Neanderthals, the next phase in human evolution is Homo sapiens, which are modern humans. Our species, Homo sapiens, emerged around 300,000 years ago and is the only surviving species of the genus Homo.

How long neanderthals been on earth?

Neanderthals lived on Earth for about 350,000 to 40,000 years ago. They are an extinct species of humans that are closely related to modern humans.

Did homo erectus live alongside homo sapiens?

There is evidence to suggest that Homo erectus and Homo sapiens may have coexisted at some point, although Homo erectus is believed to have gone extinct around 143,000 years ago. However, it is unclear if there was direct interaction between the two species.
