Zedekiah was originally called Mattaniah. Nebuchadnezzar changed Mattaniah's name to Zedekiah. See 2nd Kings 24:17.

There were several kings with that name. Nebuchadnezzar 2 was a king of the ancient Babylon civilization. Nebuchadnezzar 2 was the king referred to in the Bible. This Nebuchadnezzar is credited with the construction of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. He built it to remind his wife of her homeland. His wife was Amyitis (Amytis). She was from Medis (Media) in Persia. The Median Empire was an allie of the Babylonian Empire, and was located in what is now North-Eastern Iran.
