No, this is a myth. Barack Obama is a Christian and was sworn in at the Senate with his hand on a Bible in 2004. He used a Bible that he owned, and the oath was administered by Dick Cheney. When he became president in 2008, he was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice John Roberts and used a bible once owned by Martin Luther King, and another that was used by Abraham Lincoln. But, there was a person in the House of Representatives who is Muslim (Keith Ellison of Minnesota) who was sworn-in using a Koran once owned by Thomas Jefferson.
Yes, of course. He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and he placed his hand on the same bible used by Abraham Lincoln many years earlier.
Yes, he did- he used a historic Bible on which Lincoln had been sworn.

A Bible.
None. When Barack Obama put his hand on the Bible, the book was closed.
President Obama put his hand on two Holy Bibles. One was owned by Martin Luther King Jr. and the other by Abraham Lincoln. It was a symbol of respect and honor. Visit the related link for details.

With the exception of Andrew Jackson, there is no record of a Bible being used from the time of George Washington's second inauguration through to the time of John Tyler. Some say John Quincy Adams swore his oath of office on a law book. The only record of John Tyler's "swearing-in" is an affidavit where there's no mention of a Bible. Theodore Roosevelt did not use a Bible at his first swearing-in ceremony. Calvin Coolidge did not place his hand on the Bible, which was close-by, when sworn in by his father. Rutherford B. Hayes, at his Sunday, March 3, 1877 private ceremony, did not use a Bible. JFK did not place his hand on his family Douay Bible, which rested on top of the podium. Lyndon B. Johnson used Jacqueline Kennedy's Catholic Missal (prayer book) while on board Air Force One, after Kennedy had been shot. Staff could not find a bible on the plane. Barack Obama, at his "do-over" ceremony with Chief Justice John Roberts, didn't include a Bible.
Obama, Obama, Obama! He said so! From, My Moon.
Inauguration day is January 20, 2009.
The custom was started by Washington and most of them laid their hand on a Bible while taking the oath. Three exceptions have been noted - T. Roosevelt raised his hand in the air while taking the oath, although I think a Bible was present. Coolidge was sworn in by father at home and did not put his hand on a Bible even though one was on a nearby table. Lyndon Johnson, who had an emergency swear-in in a plane, laid his hand on a book which turned out to be a Catholic prayer book instead of a Bible.
