no he did not He actually said "I Barack Hussein Obama do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of President of the United States faithfully, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me G-d." The Oath as written in the Constitution has the word "faithfully" coming between the words "will" and "execute". Chief Justice John Roberts was the one who made the mistake, and President Obama knew that something was wrong but still said the wrong version. See the video linked below. UPDATE President Obama re-took the Oath of Office at the White House on Wednesday, January 21st 2009 in front of members of the press. Cheif Justice Roberts administered the oath. This time President Obama did not have a Bible to swear on.
