If Charles and she had not divorced, Diana would have become a consort to the King, if Charles had ascended to the throne. This would have been similar to the role the Queen Mother played to King George VI. Because of the divorce, she would not have become queen, and was not even allowed the title of Royal Highness at the time of her death.

There has not been a Queen (or King) of England for over 300 years. England is a part of, but not the same as, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Princess Diana's former husband, Prince Charles, will become King of The United Kingdom if he outlives his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. If they had remained married, and Diana had not died, she would have become his Queen Consort.

No, more than likely even if she were still alive Princess Diana would not have become Queen. If Queen Elizabeth had died sometime while Princess Diana and Prince Charles were getting divorced than there would be a slight chance that she would have become Queen, but after the divorce she was not even Her Royal Highness anymore.

Not particularly - the idea frightened her at first. She just wanted to marry Prince Charles, and the princess part went along with that.

Did Camilla Parker Bowles attend Charles and Diana's wedding?

Doubtful Diana was Prince Charles" first wife. She died in auto accident in l997. Camilla is the current , though they don"t call her this, Crown Princess. When Elizabeth II dies, Camilla will be Queen Consort ( Spouse, wife) this is not the same as a regnant queen. ( reigining, in power). Queen Mary of Ocean liner fame was a Queen Consort, as was Alexandra.

Why do we not call Prince Charles's wife Princess Camilla?

H.R.H. the duchess of Cornwall is by right of her marriage the Princess of Wales, however, there are several public relations hurdles to be gotten over by the Prince and his lady, one of which is the fact that the Prince's former wife, the late Diana Princess of Wales was a media megastar; her tragic death brought most of the Western Civilization to a standstill for some days back in 1997. Because the Wales title was so associated in the public mind with the late "Lady Di", it was thought more tactful, more respectful of popular feeling for the Prince's second wife to use his secondary title - the duchess of Cornwall - instead. For a time.
