Rosa Parks was one of many who contributed their efforts and made several amendments to the constitution. Her story is one of the most famous and might have been the inspiration for The Freedom Riders. This was a group of people of different races that rode buses all around the south. It was a dangerous position as bus drivers and townspeople did not react peacefully. However there were many people who contributed and helped shape our nation. Martin Luther King Jr was one as well as the Black Panthers, Huey P Newton, Bobby Seale (of the Chicago Conspiracy Trial), and many folk singers to name a few. Major change cannot happen with only one person. It is the efforts of many. And there is still more work to be done. Know your rights and follow your heart.
