At the moment there are about 16 States left to vote. The biggest state still to vote in the primaries is Texas with 228 delegates. Other important states yet to vote are Pennsylvania with 188, Ohio with 161 and North Carolina with 134 delegates. Texas and Ohio will vote on Mar 4, Pennsylvania on April 22 and North Carolina on May 6. In total these remaining big states make-up 771 delegates. The total of delegates of the other 12 smaller states is 480. So we just might have to wait until June 7th when Puerto Rico the last state casts its vote before it is clear which Democractic candidate (Hillary vs. Obama) wins the primaries or it may be left to the super delegates (whoever they are and however that works???). The state of Texas went for Republican candidate John McCain.
Yes. Puerto Ricans can vote in presidential primaries but are not permitted to vote in the presidential election.
No, that's just for the primaries.
The primaries have a significant role in the elections because when people vote they will think what they did and what they said when they were campaining and that could alter their vote
Yes, they are Alied with the United States, and can vote in the primaries
To quote Texas law, "If no candidate for a particular office receives the vote necessary to be elected in an election requiring a majority vote, a runoff election for that office is required." Since originally answering this question, I have learned that in the case of elections governed by Texas state law rather than local law only primaries require a majority vote.
you do need to register to vote and a picture id
King County, Texas had the lowest percentage for Barack Obama. McCain garnered 93% of the vote and Obama got 5%. The total vote was 151 for McCain and 8 votes for Obama. King County is the third least populous county in the country, behind Loving County, Texas and Kalawao, Hawai'i.
