Winston Churchill was the son of the British Lord Randolph Churchill, the VI Duke of Marlborough and Jennie Jerome, an American heiress. He was raised by a nanny, Mrs. Everest, whom he was very fond of and nicknamed "Woomany". Despite his closeness to his nanny, it never overrode his love for his mother, Jennie, who he adored. He began his boarding school experience with St. George School, Ascot and The Misses Thompson's Preparatory School from 1882-1888.

Not really. He was an indifferent student. His Father was Sir Randolph Churchill, and his Mother was the American, Jennie Jerome Churchill, a woman of great charm and influence. After College, he spent time in India as an officer of the British army before becoming a war corespondent. He eventually gained his Father's title and seat in the House of Lords, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Winston Churchill was sent away to many different schools while he was growing up. He schooled in Berkshire, Hove, West Sussex, and London. He did not actually spend much time with his parents.
