What does the V sign symbolize?

The V sign symbolizes peace, victory, or can be a gesture of solidarity and support. It is widely recognized as a positive symbol in many cultures around the world.

Why do you give the v-sign?

Two reasons. With the palm of the hand facing outwards, the V sign means 'Victory' (as popularised by Winston Churchill) or 'Peace' (as popularised by hippies of the 1960s). However, in the UK and several other countries, if the palm is facing inwards, it's an offensive gesture which means the same thing as the Middle Finger.

Who was primeminester during the world war 2?

Sir Winston Churchill, of course ( the V-sign Man). It"s Prime Minister, not how you spelled it., By the way Churchill was one of , maybe the only statesmen or political leaders to have won the Nobel Prize- For Literature- around the early fifties. President Obama and also Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were , to date, Nobel PEACE laureates. The Peace Prize is only one of seversl Nobel awards, by the way. I still hear people claiming that writer John Steinbeck won the Nobel Peace Prize- he was awarded the Nobel prize- for Literature.
