U.S. oil supplies
As to how the Persian Gulf War was different, I presume you mean different from earlier wars. There are probably many ways it was different, but these differences are of little consequence.
As the name implies, the Persian Gulf War was fought for control of the Persian Gulf. Most of the modern world runs on oil, and most of the world's oil comes comes out of the Persian Gulf on supertankers. Ergo, the Persian Gulf is a very important body of water which Iraq threatened to take control of in 1990, as Iraq had already done with the neighboring country of Kuwait. The main idea of the Persian Gulf War was to prevent Iraq from gaining a choke hold on the world's oil supply.
King Leonidas is remembered for his role in the Second Persian War. As Sparta did not participate in the First Persian War ten years earlier, it is most likely that any other fighting Leonidas did would have been against other Greeks.
Yes, such as the Persian Gulf War.
It is not in any single country.
It is not "at" any one country, it is surrounded by eight countries.
How do Persian men date American women? Are their any traditions they follow.
I'm in women clothing business and i want to open Victoria secret branch in state of Kuwait if its possible.
It has ports on the Arabian (Persian) Gulf, which is a part of the Indian Ocean.
Any conflict can be avoided, if the leaders want to avoid it.
Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman (exclave of Musandam), Iraq, and Iran all border the Persian Gulf. Any other country would qualify.
Any time the world's oil supply in the Persian Gulf is endangered by conflict...it's called the Persian Gulf crisis. If Axis warships conducted operations in or around the Persian Gulf during WWII, it would have been considered a "Persian Gulf Crisis." If the Arab-Israeli wars of the late 1940's, 1950's, or the 1967 Six Day War or Yom Kipper War of '73 had been fought along the borders of the Persian Gulf...then it would have been another "Persian gulf Crisis." Other "Persian Gulf Crisis's" have been: 1. Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) 2. Operation Desert Shield (1990-the build up of coalition forces in Saudi-Arabia/Southwest Asia). 3. Operation Desert Storm (Jan/Feb 1991-military force used to eject Iraq from Kuwait with forces built up during Operation Desert Shield the previous year). 4. Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003- the removal of Saddam from power in Iraq).
