Yes, some black people in the United States did own slaves, although the practice was much less common compared to white slaveowners. Some free black people purchased family members or loved ones to protect them from being sold into slavery or to give them a chance at a better life. Others acquired slaves for economic or social standing reasons.
Slavery is illegal and morally wrong. It is important to focus on promoting human rights, equality, and justice rather than discussing punishments for individuals who were victims of slavery.
Slaves ran away from their owners to escape cruel treatment, to seek freedom, and to reunite with their families. The desire for autonomy and the hope for a better life were common motivations for slaves to flee captivity.
Slaves were denied basic human rights such as the right to freedom, the right to education, the right to own property, and the right to make decisions about their own lives. They were also denied the right to vote, the right to participate in legal proceedings, and the right to freedom of movement.
Chesapeake slaves were often sold to generate revenue for slaveholders or to settle debts. The demand for slave labor in plantations and farms also led to the buying and selling of slaves in the region. Additionally, some slave owners may have sold slaves to break up families or punish individuals.
Slaves might not resist due to fear of punishment, lack of resources or support for rebellion, belief in the system of slavery as normal or inevitable, or hope for better treatment. Additionally, some slaves may have developed relationships with their masters or have family members within the system who they fear for.
During the American revolution, there were black slaves, black former slaves that had paid off their indenture, and free black people. However, the concept of the evil of slavery was a hot topic at the time. President Washington and others made moves to abandon slavery for the country. Too bad he never freed his own slaves . . .
no they were too busy getting pregnant
no- slaves were too expensive for most people to own. Oddly though, most of the people who could not afford slaves supported the institution of slavery. They could look forward to moving up in the world someday and owning a slave or two.
Strictly speaking, black people had been enslaving black people too in connection with wars and such even before white men arrived. The scale of the slavery pretty much exploded though when white people arrived and had such nice goods to trade for slaves with them. Then of course white people caught a fair number of slaves on their own too. And not to forget that white people weren't above enslaving white people too a few centuries earlier. The main reason I suppose was the idea that a cheap work force was attractive, and with an accepting attitude from society in general and no international laws to stop it ther was no reason not to and plenty of reasons($$$) to do so.
100,000,000,000 AND Barney Mguni too
No. The reason why the majority of slaves before (and modern day as well!) are black is because the countries inhabited by black people are, on the whole, weaker, poorer and its citizens basically much more vulnerable of getting abducted or dragged into the slavery industry. The countries where white people live (e.g. United States, Europe e.t.c.) are MEDCs- they have money and the protection that those black countries in Africa don't. Those countries have a lot of slaves that are black today, too. But slavery long ago mostly happened when countries went to war. People from the country that lost would be enslaved by the people from the country that won. Since long ago, Africa has been conquered by other countries, not conquering other countries, so that should be why there were and are so many black slaves rather than white ones. Therefore, it is not true that white slaves were replaced by black slaves. Actually, I think the number of white slaves are increasing due to abduction and the sex slavery industry?
Yes, at the time i think you are talking about all black people were slaves except if you were a free slave or not a slave at all. Also during the age of the Roman Empire females were used as slaves to not only work round the house but to sleep with the owner in the house as well.
No. There were free blacks who were slave owners, and Indians too.
Slavery exist because people are too lazy to do stuff, and people become slaves by being bullied, and push around.
A slave from back then had nearly any land what so ever. Slaves never had farms also because they were listed into the category of the lower or lowest class. Occasionally slaves did have large plantations or farms because they were bought by wealthy people or nobleman in the highest class that had large houses and many slaves. black people owned slaves too
Yes, African people are still slaves, there are people that control people that are not that powerful, because they think that just because they have more power then the other people, they think that they can control them, so you always have to remember that African people are not then only people that are slaves, in other countrys there are slaves too. Alway REMEMBER, that there are MANY slaves around the WORLD. :) Thxx :)
A player can be automatically kicked out of a session of playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 for being idle for too long, if there is a poor connection with the game server, if there are too many people trying to access the server, or for shooting at members of your own team too much.
