Only poor boys, how where kinda rich went to school. Learning; Maths, English, reading and writing and a speech lesson, when having to recite a speech and read to the class. On the other hand girls where taught how to sew, cook and clean by their mothers at home. Very rich boys where taught at home, by their slaves or even parents.
Girls could go to school in ancient Rome, there was no law against it, but most girls were educated at home because it was considered more appropriate. If their parents were wealthy they could have a private tutor just like their brothers.
There was a form of education in the Roman Times. The learning took place in a forum setting where many student acquired a basic 5 year education. Secondary schooling was available for those that were interested.

"Tudor times" (sigh) What does that mean? Why did you capitalize "did" and "wear" but not the proper name "Tudor"? Also, how about picking up a book that discusses 15th century English culture along with an English grammar book?

Only the wealthy children went to school, so many children were uneducated during the Tudor era, but the children who did go to school learnt little too. Also, only boys went to school, girls stayed at home cooking and cleaning. The boys who went to school mainly learnt Latin, Greek, Religion and mathematics. The children learnt the alphabet by copying down the letters in the Lords Prayer.
It is a Tudor school that young boys and girls went to to learn to read.

Life expectancy during Tudor times was shorter. Children did not always live into adulthood. As a result boys and girls were often dressed in the same clothes until the boy grew older. This meant that the boys would wear a dress like the girls.

Not many children went to school in Tudor times. Those that did go were mainly the sons of wealthy or working families who could afford to pay the attendance fee. Boys began school at the age of 4 and moved to grammar school when they were 7. Girls were kept at home by their parents to help with housework. Also they were pretty awesome
