Hi, yes he did but got landslided by Ronald Reagan.

Prior to running for the second term, Ted Kennedy came from nowhere with a massive possible challenge within the Democrat party but he decided eventually not to run against President Carter. Had he fully challenged, it may have been a great election Kennedy v Reagan.
