It is uncertain to tell if any were actually part of the Confederacy in battle, but I highly doubt it. Most slaves were considered to be inferior and were forced to stay on the farms. If a slave was to fight it would probably be for the north. I only know of one actual group of slaves that fought in the war. (There were a couple hundred in the group) and people were racist towards them, and they were also kept out of battles.
Yes. Salve owners let there slaves go out to war.
Technically slaves could not fight in the war unless they had permission from the owners or there owners had made them fight. But at the end of the Civil War all the slaves were set free this is what the civil war was about the North wanted the slaves to be set free but the south wanted slaves as they relied on them for there economy. this was the Cotton indusrty mainly when the North won the war they decleared all slaves free.
The slaves went to the Union because they wanted to fight for their freedom, and the blacks that fought for the Confederacy were mostly forced to.
Slaves naturally wanted to fight against the people who had enslaved them, in order to free themselves and to bring an end to slavery.
No, however they were a supply chain for the Confederacy.

They were free in the Union (the north), but not in the Confederacy (the south), as they became seperate.
he fought in war for freedom and set slaves free

The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in the Confederacy as a strategic war move; it did not free slaves in key border states, such as Maryland and Virginia, where some slaves worked for the Union army. freed most slaves inthe confederacy NOVANET
freed any slaves that were in the rebellion against the United States. gave people the high moral purpose to fight to free the slaves. also allowed African Americans to fight in the Union army. Made the Confederacy fight more for their way of life
Slaves fought for both sides, if they were free they would fight for the North to help free others. If they were slaves they would be forced to go to help the South win. The implementation of having slaves in the South become Confederate soldiers came very late in the war. It did not effect the outcome of the war at all.
A Strong will to fight
Correct, because at the time of the Emancipation Proclamation, there were no slaves in any of the Union's territories or states. However, when the Confederacy lost the Civil War and was thus re-united with the U.S.A., those states had to free their slaves.
They couldn't, it was to change the focus of the war to ending slavery though.
