No. A civil war followed independence. There has been other trouble as a result of it, most famously between the 1960s and 1990s in Northern Ireland.
No it didn't. The terms of the treaty giving independence were disputed by some people in Ireland and this resulted in a civil war between the pro-treaty and anti-treaty people. The creation of Northern Ireland as a result of the treaty was also a cause of conflict, particular from the late 1960s to the mid 1990s.

∙ 14y agoNo. After independence in 1922, there was a civil war, so there was trouble all around the country between 1922 and 1923, and even some trouble after that.No it did not. There were other conflicts, like the Irish Civil War which arose because not everyone agreed with the treaty that made 26 of Ireland's counties independent, while the other 6 became Northern Ireland and stayed within the United Kingdom, as it is to this day.
