The Confederates made military use of slaves in the US Civil War. On October 20, 1862, Confederate President Davis called for Virginia to furnish 4,500 slaves to work on the fortifications of Richmond. Since Blacks had little choice, they performed work in digging trenches and other fortifications around other Southern cities as well. In some cases, there were freed slaves living in the South. These men were paid approximately $11 per month for their labors.Far too late in the war, in early 1865, Davis authorized drafting 300,000 slaves into the army. The so-called arrangement with these soldiers was that they would receive their freedom if the South won their independence from the US.

Who came first in the civil war the slaves or the woman?

The question as asked appears nonsensical. The Civil War was fought to save the Union. The South seceded over states rights and property, which was a euphemism for Slavery. Women's rights played no part in the Civil War. Women's Rights came into play only after the Civil War ended.
