If you mean Did soldiers fire on each other, the answer is Yes. There were instances of "friendly fire" where troops accidentally fired at soldiers on their side. Early in the war, each state organized their regiments within their states and equipped them with uniforms that were available. There was no standard for the uniform. Some uniforms were based on military schools and grey was a poplar color. When these units went into combat, many were wearing different colored uniforms. This caused confusion in battle and they would be fired upon by their own troops. At Shiloh, the blue uniforms of 16th Louisiana and the 18 Louisiana caused unnecessary casualties. It also caused some units to stop their advance until the "enemy" was identified, thus causing a delay in the battle. There were also acts of friendly fire at Antietam battle.
