Did the 1972 Lincoln Mark IV have retractable rear passenger windows similar to the Mark III?

No. Actually Yes and No. The rear windows retracted straight back only part way. Enough for a little vent. They couldn't go straight back too far because of the opera windows.

There is a switch that allows you to open and close the Lincoln Navigator rear side windows. The switch is located on the overhead console.
