porcelain was used for plates, cups, statues,..... porcelain was also very beautiful and had a lot of neat designs on it that it was very popular and the Chinese traded it. later, the europeans found out about the secret ingredient they used to make porcelain and made it their self.

Unlike earthenware before it, the purity of the materials gave the white color and the materials when fired, formed a very high percentage of glass which gives porcelain its translucency and strength which was highly valued.
