Neither Prophet Muhammad nor Muslims killed any infidel except when Muslims got attacked by them, then rules of war apply. However, no mention in history that Muslims (or prophet Muhammad) killed a civilian, a woman, a child, or an old man.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forgiving nature and tolerance was very clear when he got control of the infidels of Makkah (Mecca) where he released them all at no condition although they plotted to assassinate him and they forced him to immigrate from Makkah (his birth place).
