No the Scots did not like being ruled by the English. They considered themselves to be an independent country and the English forced them to pay taxes to them and to stay under their heels. Haven't you seen the movie Braveheart? Granted, it's not historically accurate, but it does show the overall feeling of the Scots at that time period.

The Scots continued to buck English authority even in the nineteen hundreds. During WWII, several Scotsmen were hung or thrown into prison for conspiring with the Germans so that they could over run the British. They tried to join the German army and make a deal with them so that if the Germans won, Scotland and Ireland would become free.

So no, they did not 'like' being ruled by the English.

Was Mary Queen of Scots innocent?

Of what? There are many things that could be being asked by simply saying ''Was Mary, Queen of Scots innocent?''. If you are referring to her second husband's murder then, yes, she was innocent. Well ... it is highly debated and the majority of people believe she was the culprit, however, I frankly think otherwise. Was she innocent of being a witch? Yes, because there are no such thing as witches. Was she innocent of having an affair with James Hepburn, Lord Bothwell while she was married to Henry, Lord Darnley? Well ... no, but do not think unkindly of her as many married people cheat. If none of these are what you meant, then you at least got an education on Mary, Queen of Scots. Oh, and I have just noticed that I must sound rather like a fan of Mary, Queen of Scots in the small piece above. Now you ask "Are you a fan of Mary, Queen of Scots?". Yes I am. I am hugely obsessed with her and have many information pages that I wrote about her. I am not into Mary I of England although some people are intent on saying they are the same person. But guess what, they are NOT!

How do you translate English into Scottish?

Really depends on what you mean. Scottish as a language can mean 3 separate things. 1) 'Scots-English'. Basically like 'American-English' or 'Australian-English' a strong dialect, accent and or use of a lot of slang (Slang words that could stem from pure Scots.) You are also going to get regional variations, E.G Glaswegian has a completely different Dialect/Accent from Edinburger. 2) 'Scots'. Not to be confused with 'Scots-English'. A language derived from the Lowland Anglo culture of southern Scotland. Has some similarities with early Anglo-Saxon (Olde English) but is very distinct. 3) 'Scottish Gaelic' The oldest language in Scotland, spoken by the Celtic Gaels, similar to Irish. It is also noted that most Scottish People will speak a mixture of all three, even if not aware of it as many Scot's phrases like "Peely Wally" (Pale and Sickly) or "Coorie Doon" (Cuddle in) are from 'Scots' and Names and Places are mostly Anglicised Gaelic 'MacDonald', 'Loch Ness' etc. So use that information to search of Translators.
