Technologically plus a navy plus a much larger airforce, but in personal weapons, not really
North Vietnam's communist government wanted to unify all of Vietnam under their control. The plan was to encourage the general population of South Vietnam that a unified Vietnam would be better than their democracy. North Vietnamese soldiers were taught that they were fighting to remove 'foreign aggressors' from Vietnamese soil to help win back the south.
Better living conditions in America; education, medical, food, housing, law enforcement, transportation, repair facilities, roads, entertainment industry, stores, parks, jobs (employment), etc.
The US wasn't beat militarily. However, the limitations imposed on the scope of operations in Vietnam made it into a war of attrition, which the Vietnamese people were better prepared for than the US populace.
Around 600,000 Vietnamese died in the Vietnam War. More Vietnamese died than Americans. That amazes me.
When the French left Vietnam, the country was divided in to two parts, north Vietnam which was under communist control, and south Vietnam that was officially democratic, but was actually in practice a totalitarian state. The Norht Vietnamese beleived that the south was a colony of foreign powers and wanted to unite Vietnam into one country, under communist rule. South Vietnam and the United States wanted to prevent the communists from taking over south Vietnam. The war was started by south vietnamese rebels who were opposed to the corruption of the south vietnamese regime. North Vietnam supported these rebels who were commonly known as the Viet Cong. The United States supported South Vietnam in spite of its corrupt government in the belief that it was better to have a corrupt government in south Vietnam than a communist government.
North Vietnam fought alone (other than South Vietnamese communists known as the VC). North Vietnam was supplied by USSR/Communist China with war equipment.
1. Korea US/UN victory; Communist enemy stopped. 2. Vietnam; Communist victory. Korea was a remake of WWII; fought with the same weapons (minus the jets); and lasted about the same time...3 yrs. Vietnam was a whole new ball of wax. A whole slew of new weapons and equipment; and it lasted a lot more than 3 yrs.
Roughly a million Vietnamese were killed in the war.
they launched multirole bombers more than enough to destroy the north vietnamese forces
America's offensive weapons wernt that good so we had to improvise with the defensive weapons

Saigon, the capital of the Republic of South Vietnam was taken over by communism of North Vietnam. More than half a million of Vietnamese people have left the country by boats or by anything that is possible. More than 10 thousand Vietnamese boat people were lost at sea or died. Others became slaves under the hand of pirates. Thousands of Vietnamese civilians in Vietnam were under the hand of Viet Cong government and other became of slaves of communism in communist prisons. After the Vietnam war, Saigon was re-named Ho Chi Minh City.
