Why are the Filipinos were already civilized people even before the coming of Spaniards?

One good reason is that we have our own custom traditions before the Spanish colony era. The natives uses their minds to cleverly live with the resources that they can found in the whole Philippine islands. At that time, people believe that the world was flat and those who wandered in the ocean will eventually fall into the edge of the earth and will go out on the space. But since many people disagreed with this theory, they created expeditions. Some created barter routes. And they traveled across the sea. Other traders and sea travelers made it to the Philippines island. The cultures and some of the ways of other lands made a great influence to the Filipino natives. This made our natives more practical in any ways. These people who made a great influence to us can be an Aeta (Ita), Indones, Malay, Tabon, and others.

What is the summary of Rizal's the indolence of the Filipinos?

Summary Of The Indolence Of FilipinosThe Indolence of the Filipinos In this essay of Rizal, he observed the behaviors of the Filipinos past and present in his time. He said that the indolence is the effect of the backwardness and troubles of experienced by the country. In the start of his essay he said that the hot climate is a reasonable predisposition for indolence. By this he means that the Europeans have a cold climate thus they need to move around more to compensate with their climate, they also make more food for storage in case a calamity strikes, and that produces more work. The Spaniards labeled us as bums and lazy people because they are egocentric. That clearly doesn't show that we are lazy. It simply shows that we are contented with our way of living. Carrying on with the essay, Rizal said that an illness will worsen if the wrong treatment is given. Before, early Filipinos were already carrying out trades; they were into agriculture and mining. That shows that we are hardworking and independent group of people. We have a society that is clearly showing off progress. When the Spaniards arrived they criticize our way of living. That eventually led to changing the Filipino culture. So what makes our country not achieve progress? Sadly, we have a misfortune past. When the Spaniards arrived, the frequent wars, insurrections, and invasions have brought disorder to the communities, thus resulting to chaos and destruction. Filipino men have been brought to different countries to fight wars for Spain, force labor was implemented to ship yards and natives move to mountains because of the abuses the Spaniards has brought to them. That caused resulted to decrease in Filipino population, neglect of farms and trauma.Trade has declined, because of pirate attacks and the many restrictions imposed by the government, which gives no aid for crops and farmers. This and the abuse suffered by farmers have caused many to abandon the fields. Businesses were monopolized by government...

What was the philippine-American war strategies?

To pacify the "insurgents" as the American press called them, although they were in acuality--Filipino "revolutionaries", who were continuing to fight for their independence and had already created their own constitution and inaugurated their own President, declaring their independence in 1898. This was short-lived, as Americans decided to take over the ruling over the Filipinos where Spain left off. Although Americans and Filipinos were once friends during the Spanish-American War, they became embroiled in a battle for independence vs. control over the Philippines. Water torture was invented by Americans in the Philippines, and thousands of Filipinos massacred by the Americans. The Americans also invented the Colt 45 during the Philippine-American War because their normal firearms couldn't stop the Filipino revolutionary. When the Spaniards were cleared from the Philippines during the Spanish-American War, instead of giving the Philippines their independence as they did to Cuba, Americans decide to exercise "manifest destiny" and "rule" over the Philippines instead, torturing Filipinos just as the Spaniards did. Doing so, would make the Philippines the first "colony" ruled by America outside the U.S. Filipino revolutionaries, including the 1st Filipino President, Emilio Aguinaldo, fought against American rule, and thus the Philippine-American War ensued, which lasted far longer than the Spanish-American War, approx. 15 years when extended wars are included. Spaniards occupied the archipelago for approximately 400 years and Americans occupied the Philippines for approximately 100 more years.
