Yes,and they used the Italian's Aircraft for the same purpose in the battle.
Yes.
Hienkel HE 111 bombers and Messerschmitt 109 fighters were the most common aircraft manufacturers used. The Heinkels had engines built by BMW which reverted to making cars after the war.
It is true. There were not a lot of them but the Italians were there. See link below.
The Italians were allies of Germany. The Italian aircraft manufacturers could not produce sufficient aircraft. After the Allies captured Sicily and landed on mainland Italy, the German Luftwaffe began to decline. The commander of the Luftwaffe in Italy was General Wolfram von Richthofen. The majority of the German fighters were pulled out of Italy for use to fight the Russians and defend their homeland from strategic bombing. Some German units remained to fly supplies and recon. The fighter squardrons were operated by Italian pilots and Germany began to arm them with Messerschmidts Bf-109s and Ju-87 Stukas. For awhile they flew in the Italian RSI isgnia but some flew with German insignia. Source: "Air War in Italy 1944-45" by Beale & D'Amico & Valentini
No. Hungary, Rumania & Bulgaria did not become real Axis partners until after the late-summer 1940 Battle of Britain. They assisted Germany in the invasion of Yugoslavia & Greece in April 1941, and then in the invasion of the Soviet Union starting on 22 June 1941. During the Battle of Britain, Italy did send a small force of fighters & bombers to assist Germany. These Italian aircraft did participate in a few aerial attacks on England in the late summer of 1940.
