Many Americans, specially retirees, spend their latter years living in Mexico, because of cheaper real state prices.

Now, there are pros and cons of any such agreement, but nowadays it seems to be successful, increasing trade between the US and its two partners from US$337 billion in 1993 to US$1.2 trillion in 2011 (annual increase of almost 20%).
The US benefited at the expense of Mexico: it acquired the whole states of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, as well as parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas.
