hi my name is Brittany hobbs, and i got my tonsils tooken out the 26th of januray 2011 and i ripped my stiches, when you rip your stitches you gotta contact your doctor, as soon as possible...and do to the emergecy room. its not good when the are ripped...you can bleed to death and possible fiant and never wake up...its really possible...so make sure u don't talk for a few days 2-5 days and do not eat things are really hard to chew, and only eat the things you can eat like ice cream, MASH patots stuff like that.

and good luck rember what i told you, so you can protect your tonsils for not ripping so you don't have to bleed real bad...thanks for listening

Wondering::: How did you get your tonsils taken out on the 26th of Jan 2011 when the date of my post is Jan 19 2011?

Can smiling rip your stitches after a frenectomy?

Just had a frenectomy myself, so I know what it feels like. There definitely is that sensation when you smile or laugh. According to my orthodontist, smiling should not rip the stitches, though. I would take it easy to be safe.

How to Take out sewing stitches?

The most common way used to remove stitching is by using a tool called a "seam ripper". It is a bit of a time consuming activity that requires some patience. You have to carefully cut the thread, without damaging the fabric. An exacto knife also works, but again, be careful not to cut into the fabric!

Can you skateboard with stitches?

It kind of depends on where the stitches are. As long as the stitches are somewhere that they won't be stretching and pulling, you should be okay. If it is somewhere where the skin will be stressing during the boarding, hold off until they are removed. It hurts like crazy to have stitches rip, and it will mess the wound up even worse. Also, keep in mind if it is somewhere you are likely to scrape on the concrete or asphalt if you trip or bust, you are likely to mess them up too. If they are on a hand or knee, you might also want to hold up. Be careful not to sweat the stitches all up. The area needs to stay clean and dry.
