same thing happened to me... tried to dye black and it turned green...Look for dye with a red undertone..(red 5, 6,) instead of a blue undertone...And make sure befroe you try a die you try a rinse...especially if you are doing it alone at home...You can rinse your hair forever but you can only dye your hair once or twicw a month over a period of weeks.
Shampoo isn't harmful to your hair because it washes your hair and nourishes your hair, some shampoos make your hair blonder, keep your warm brown, keep your bright red etc.. Shampoos don't damage your hair because there is either no ammonia (which is in dyes) in it or no hydrogen peroxide (what lightens your hair). After you wash some shampoos out your hair may already feel soft (higher priced ones) so you don't necessarily need a conditioner, but lower priced ones could leave your hair feeling dull and dry without a conditioner. Hope this helped

Dark brown when she was young and turned light brown as she got older and eventually turned white
if your want the color to be lighter then just take a shower or just wash your hair with regular shampoo. but dont leave the shampoo in for too long or it will take out to much of the color. use head and shoulders anti dandruff. I accidentally fell asleep with hair dye in and it turned black. within a week it was already mid/dark brown and three weeks later it is is light/mid brown.
I wouldn't try dishwashing liquid on your hair. There are harsh chemicals in it for degreasing and such, not good. I went to cosmetology school, and I would recommend finding a Sally's or other public beauty supply where you live. They will have shampoos designed for "stripping" dye out of your hair. You can do that and then re-dye it at the desired brown. If that option sounds a little extreme, try a deep clarifying shampoo followed by a shampoo and conditioner set called "Shimmer Lights" which are a bluish purple product designed to tint out unwanted red and orange tones from your hair. They also have little tubes of blue dye that you can add to your own shampoo as an even cheaper alternative.
