It can and probably will
Diesel contains more impurities compared to gasolene. Therefore fuel filter is more critical in a diesel engine
add more fuel to engine witch means more power
They certainly are. Using them together with carburetted engines can be a bit tricky, and usually the compression has to be lowered when compared to a naturally aspirated engine.
Diesel engines are more efficient and do use less fuel, but they do not cost less than a petrol engine, they cost more. Diesel fuel also costs more. A diesel engine will however last longer.
The diesel engine has more toque, gets better fuel mileage (30%) better, and will last longer with less maintenance. It does cost more initially and diesel fuel is more costly but for some applications is a wise choice.
Of an individual diesel engine and an individual steam engine of the same energy output the diesel engine would be less polluting. It is far more efficient. However, there are far more diesel engines than steam engines in the world today so overall diesel engines pollute more than steam engines.
not at all. that will cause engine damage. gasoline burns at a much lower temperature than diesel fuel so you will get pre ignition. diesel fuel has more useable power in than gasoline. gasoline is rated in octane and diesel fuel is rated in cetane. with diesel fuel the higher the cetane the faster the fuel will burn for a more complete combustion. so if you want more power from a diesel a place to start is a higher cetane diesel fuel. but things like bigger trubos, vgt turbos, injectors, intercoolers have a much bigger effect on power than fuel
Diesel will always give you better fuel mileage as diesel fuel itself contains more BTU (the measure of thermal energy) in a given quantity than compared to gas.So therefore a diesel engine can extract more mileage out of a gallon of diesel fuel as there is more energy to extract out of that gallon as compared to a gallon of gas.Considering this, this is why diesel fuel prices would have to rise considerably over gas before the two would be equal on a cost per mile basis.
Drain all fuel from the tank and fuel lines and put in diesel. Engine damage will occur if you run gas in a diesel engine.
A petrol engine revs higher, which allows it to burn more fuel and output more power.
make the fuel sufficient burning
Both our internal combustion engines but the main difference is that a petrol engine uses spark plugs to ignite the fuel but a diesel engine has no spark plugs but instead uses compression to ignite the fuel. A diesel engine is also built much stronger than a gasoline/petrol engine. Diesel engines get better fuel mileage, last longer, and have much more torque or pulling power than a petrol engine. The only disadvantage to a diesel is the fact that it is more costly to build than a gasoline engine.
