difference between home page and effective home page
A homepage is web parlance for the default page that is displayed when a domain is visited. For instance if someone goes to andrewbleakley.com without specifying a page index.php is served as the default page. The idea of an effective homepage came about when people started using "splash" pages or loading pages the next page served after the splash became the effective homepage as the actual homepage served no real purpose (excepting entertainment)
iGoogle is Google's customisable home page. Chrome is a Web browser.
A master page is one that provides an automatic layout and other graphic elements. A home page is simply a landing page that comes up when you open a certain program.
A web page is the basic thing you see on the World Wide Web. Each time the URL changes, the web page changes. Multiple web pages grouped together form a website. A web server is what stores websites and delivers them to a web browser when it is requested.
A Home Page is a web page. The difference is the Home Page is the center of the web and should link to all other web pages. A center, a point of origin, or base for the rest of the website. The home page is the index page that is assigned a domain name. The other web pages are on a lower level than the Home page.
Although I don't have too much expieriance in this field, I believe a homepage is just a single page of one website. A web page is the literall website. If you try and image it like a book, a home page is like the writing in the book, the big bold letters at the top of the page, while a web page is the actual page in the book, the page that holds everything together. Hope that helps!
The index page is the main page of the website (also known as 'home'). It also has contents. So there is no such thing as contents page because all pages have contents. What you really meant might be "inside pages" like contacts, about me or similar subpages of the index page.
A web page is just one page, a web site is a collection of pages. Much like the difference between a page and a book.
