Zoom back means the camera remains in place while the lens focal length is adjusted to be shorter. If the camera is trolleyed back, the camera itself is moved back on a trolley or dolly. Depending on the amount of zoom back, increased depth of field, distortion of vertical lines and apparent changes to spatial relationships may be effected as compared to moving the camera.
