Best Answer

ic refers to integrated circuits and ttl refers to transistor transistor logic.

ttl is a family which provides the basic or former structure of logic gates for example different logic gates such as NAND,NOR etc can be made out with the help of transistors connected in a specific manner.

integerated circuits are the combination of logic gates presented on a base with equal number of input pins . for example IC-7408 contains 14 pins

Why ttl voltage level converting to rs232 level?

Whwn an IC is connected to a PC, then the voltage levels of these two should be synchronized. For this purpose, the TTL voltage level is converted to RS 232 level. RS 232 is the interface between a PC and an IC.

Why use ic 7404?

you need some TTL inverter gates.

Why ic given name MC74HC08AN?

naming of IC is done according to manufacturer's name, ic type and IC number. i think MC means motorola is manufacturer. 74 means TTL IC. It is 7408 IC and H means high

Which ttl ic is equivalent to lm 4017 ic decade counter?

The 4017 is a 5-stage divide-by-10 "Johnson counter" with 10 decoded outputs and a carry out bit. The 4000 series are CMOS devices. In TTL, the 74142 is also designed as a decade counter, which makes it functionally equivalent to the primary mission of the 4017. But it can't be called "equivalent" in any other respect, because of the usual wide array of differences in power requirements and input and output impedances between CMOS and TTL technology.

What is TTL?

Answer"TTL" stands for "Transistor to Transistor Logic". It's a very low current level communication protocol, typically used for very short distances. It also tends to be very sensitive to static and static discharge. It's the communication that is most commonly used between IC chips on a PC board.

Why do you connect capacitor in MAX232?

The input to the max232 ic will be of Transistor Transistor Logic (TTL) and its voltage range will be of 5 volt. The output of the max 232 ic will be of Recomended Standard 232 Logic (RS232 logic) and its voltage range will be of 12 volt. The max 232 ic which is operating on 5 volt supply has to step up the 5 volt input to 12 volt. Hence a capacitor is used for pumping the voltage and called as pumping capacitor.
