Brazilian have a first name, for example Mary, the last name from their mother, let's say Smith and the last name from their father, for example Brown. So the child's name is Mary Smith Brown.
It is always like this: a first name, the last name from mom and last name from dad.
A middle name is optional some people have, some people don't. In Brazil you can name your child Mary Elisabeth Smith Brown or Mary Rose Smith Brown or just Mary Smith Brown.
Note that Smith and Brown are her surnames. Brazilian have two surnames one from mom, one from dad. Usually we just use the last one that is from dad in most situations. So our Mary would present herself as Mary Brown.
parents in the middle ages most likely did not eat there children but if they were dire enough the could have but most would chose not to eat there own children because like today parents love there children in most cases
It depends on what kind of of Brazilians you are asking, lower class Braziians tend to look like Latinos, black, and or mulatoes, and they live mostly in the northeast of Brazil, middle class and higher class tend to be mostly European and they are more concentraded in the Southeast/West and South. The European Brazilian Elite are mostly descendant of Portuguese folowed by Italians, Germans and Spaniard. There are a lot of White Brazilians who are poor and and a lot of black/mixed Brazilians who are rich, but the latter is more rare to see. European Brazilians are Mostly mediterranean like Northen Italians and Portuguese and the mixed Brazilians are a mix of European and Black slaves from Africa.
Becuase why would the parents want their children to have the same middle name?
Parents love their children eaqualy. ( but maybe not at the same time though )
The best scenario is to have two parents that maintain an active interest in the children. Children need contact with their parents, it's unfair to them to be put in the middle of an adult relationship that is strained.
Probably because they lived with their parents their whole life and they now live with their children, so they are related to both, they have children to care for, and old parents to watch over. They are not sure who to help.
