Buddhists *practice* meditation, but they do not *believe* in it. Belief is a function of the mind, whereas meditation is about *witnessing* the mind using awareness or consciousness, which lie beyond the mind.
We do both. We meditate to gain a better understanding of how our minds work and the nature of existence.
Buddhist prayer is completely different than prayer in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam).
In the Abrahamic religions a person prays to god or some saint for insight, or forgiveness or for some action to be taken on their behalf. That is, they are praying for some supernatural being to intercede for them.
In Buddhism a prayer is more like a mantra in which the person praying is reciting a lesson (sutra) or guideline which tells them how to behave and act. For example, a prayer for compassion is "may all beings be well, happy and peaceful". The idea behind this prayer is for the person praying to develop compassion and loving kindness to all. It is also used to increase our compassion and wisdom. Therefore prayer in Buddhism is self-directed.
yup
We meditate, read scriptures, chant and be mindful.
No Buddhism.
The Buddha did teach that people should meditate -- but very specific forms of meditation, not just any old meditation.
Most buddhists meditate on their own at home but some will go to a Buddhist Center, or temples and monasteries to meditate. Buddhism is not a religion. Therefore, buddhists do not pray in the western sense of "talking" to deity/God to ask help or forgiveness.
Meditation is a way of purifying and calming the mind, of attaining insight, and of making progress on the path to enlightenment.
meditate, chant/sing, they say mantras, they perform rituals, they study stories, and they memorize text
I'm not sure what you mean by 'save', but buddha taught Buddhism to many people and how to meditate, become enlightened etc.
because they do and becvause they like to medeitate to fell better and they meditate at zen gardens
Buddhists do not worship any god, deity or person, not even the Buddha. We revere the Buddha for bringing us the teachings (Dharma), but the Buddha was just a man. We meditate and go for teachings at a temple. We also meditate at shrines in our houses.
Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism. Interestingly enough, you could say it was because he was determined to stay against a tree and meditate - and not arising until he reached Enlightenment. It took about 49 days, but after that, he claims to have reached Enlightenment.
Buddhism is a religion about harmony, peace and finding the Buddha within yourself. The founder of Buddhism is Siddhartha Gautama. In Buddhism ,people believe in karma and the 4 noble truths. Many Buddhist's are vegetarians. Buddhist's do not kill insects, animals, people. Buddhist's meditate in quite places for their minds to relax and 'travel'.
I believe it is Buddhism, they believe that everlasting peace (Nirvana) could be achieved by leading life the simplest way, and I think like some other things like begging (for they believe that it is like lowering yourself or something) and yeah, so basically you have to be really simple and I think like meditate.
