Well, it depends on the point of view. In general Germans speak only German for it is their mother tongue. But there are many varieties of the language, which we call "Dialekt". You could tell from a peron's accent which part of Germany he comes from, just as you ould tell if someone is from Australia or Canada e.g. by his accent.
In school pupils are usually teached English, and depending on the type of school other languages like French, Italian, Rusian or Spanish.
And you must not forget that there are, especially in big cities like Berlin, a lot of immigrants living in Germany. They mainly come from Turkey, former Yugoslavia, Italy, Greece etc. And although many of then live here in second, third or fourth generation, at home and with friends they would still speak in their parent's mother tongue.
A person who can speak more than one language is called a polyglot.

Depends on the person. Some speak only one language, some speak more than one. Each country has at least some people who speak 2 languages or more. A further point: Most Germans learn English at school, often to a respectable or high standard. In fact, in Germany people who cannot speak (and read) a foreign language are considered uneducated.
