Jehovah's Witnesses believe in what The Bible teaches. As Jesus said in John 17:17 "your word (God's word found in the Bible) is the truth". What does the Bible say about the condition of the dead?

If you have a Bible at home please read these Scriptures. You can look it up in your own Bible.

Humans are made from dust. Genesis 2:7 and 1 Corinthians 15:45 say when God created Adam, he "became a living soul". And after Adam and Eve sinned God told them in Genesis 3:19, "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it your were taken. For dust you are and to dust YOU WILL RETURN". We are not spirits living in a body of flesh. We are physical creatures, so no part of us survives death. When we die, our brain dies too, and our thoughts perish. Thus, Lazarus (John chapter 11) said nothing about his experience of death because the dead are unconscious.-Read Psalm 146:4 "His spirit (force of life) goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish."

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.

There is however hope for the dead. It doesn't end there. Jesus taught there will be a resurrection. Read it in your Bible in John 5:28, 29 where it says "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."

If you have further questions feel free to ask the Witnesses when you see them. They will be happy to answer your questions with your own Bible.

Why do Jehovah witnesses' believe Jesus ascended to heaven in 1939?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus' ascension to heaven occurred invisibly in 33 C.E., as described in the Bible. They do not believe that Jesus ascended to heaven again in 1939 or any other specific date. The reference to 1939 may be associated with a significant event in the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, but it does not relate to Jesus' ascension.

Do Jehovah witnesses believe that the more they are persecuted to more they will receive in heaven?

No they don't. Jehovah's Witnesses are not surprised by persecution, since the Bible indicates that Christians would be persecuted, but they do not delight in persecution nor believe that it brings any merit. Most Jehovah's Witnesses today have the hope of living forever on a paradise earth. Only a small number of them living today have received the call to heavenly life. Even this group does not believe that persecution will give them more in heaven.

Does god have a limit of people in heaven?

Most religious faiths do not believe that the number of people going to heaven is limited. The Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones I know of who believe that an elite few are heaven-bound: Their idea is that 144,000 will go to heaven, but others who don't get into heaven will live in an earthly paradise instead. Many faiths say that "god is love". Would a loving deity want to limit the number of souls who get to abide in heaven?

Do jehovahs witnesses believe in Christ?

Yes. According to the Official Jehovah's Witness Media site, under "Doctrinal Beliefs=>The Bible, God, and Jesus" Jehovah's Witnesses believe[quote]:Jesus is the Son of God. He came to earth from heaven and gave his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice. [...] Jesus never claimed equality with God and thus is not part of a Trinity.-John 3:16; 14:28; Revelation 11:15.[end quote]Yes, the believe in Jesus Christ.

Do Jehovah witness feel Gods annointing?

Not all of Jehovah's Witnesses experience God's "anointing". This is because Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only those who are going to heaven will receive this "anointing". Those who are not going to heaven will have an opportunity to live forever in a paradise on earth, as Jesus promised. You can learn more by going to their official website.
