I'm not sure if it's just a thing to do in the Christianity religion, but i think it is okay, as long as the ring isn't blessed by a preacher, which makes it into a christian tradition
although i do not know if it is against the Jewish religion, which i highly doubt
purity rings are a christian concept- stating that you will remain abstinent and pure until marriage. However you don't neccesairly have to be a christian to have a purity ring. Go for it! However my personal opipion would be not to get one if your culture frowns upon them... being a Christian (Quaker) they are not! :-)
