Sometimes gaited horses belonging to breeds developed especially to provide horses with comfortable gaits like the Missouris Fox Trotter which can move in a gait where its front hooves have a long stride while hind hooves trot may appear to have a longer body. The Mountain horse breeds like the Rocky Mountain Horse which move with an asynchronous four-beat gait (each hoof strikes the ground separately) can appear to have a longer body than, say a Quarter Horse.
No Missouri Fox Trotters preform a Diagonal gait called the Fox Trot which is a form of ambling gait.
