Yes it does. It is located between the valve cover and vehicle battery. Usually black in color, it will have the 4 spark cables plugged into it. There will be 3 Philips head screws holding it in place.

The fan housing on a 97 200sx is held in using 3 10mm bolts on the top of the fan housing. once you remove these 3 bolts and unplug the fans they lift right out
According to a quick Google search, there has been a recall on 200SX for this exact problem. Perhaps a dealership near you will be able to take care of the problem.
