There is not much of a difference between Latin American Spanish and European. Like all Spanish speaking countries, the differences that occur in their language has to do with their history and culture. Puerto Ricans speak Spanish with a few African and Taino Indian words. for example, "Buya" is the African word for noise, "chango" is another African word used by puerto ricans which means cranky or spoiled. Taino Indians also have an impact in the puerto rican dialect in the names of certain vegetables and towns. Even European Spanish is influenced by the moors which invaded Spain in the middle ages. the Spanish word-- Ojala (oh- Allah) means hopefully. The moors used to say o, Allah
