Not all atoms on the Periodic Table have the same number of electrons. It's atomic number is the number of protons and electrons, and since all the elements have different atomic numbers, they all have different numbers of electrons.

Every electrically neutral atom of an element has the same number of electrons. An atom that has more or fewer electrons than protons has a charge and is called an "Ion". Two atoms are walking down the street and one says to the other "I've lost an electron" The other says "Are you sure?" To which the first replies "Yes, I'm positive."

What does groups in a periodic table have?

atoms in a group have the same number of valence electrons

Where are atoms that tend to gain electrons located on the periodic table?

Atoms that tend to gain electrons are located on the far left side of the periodic table.

Do all elements of the periodic table have the same type of atoms?

No. Atoms differ in number of protons, neutrons and electrons.

Which number on the periodic table determines the number of electrons in the atoms of the elements?

The atomic number which is equal to the number of protons or electrons in a neutral atom.

What do you use the periodic table for?

we use the periodic table because it helps us with the atoms and electrons it tells us the mass number atomic number and the symbol

Do hydrogen and atoms have an equal number of electrons?

No. Neutral atoms of each element, including hydrogen, have a unique number of electrons, which is equal to the number of protons in their nuclei. The number of protons is the element's atomic number on the periodic table.

What are protons and electrons equal to on the periodic table?

The equivalence is with the atomic number.

What are electrons on a periodic table?

Periodic table lists the elements in the increasing order of atomic number. Atomic number = Number of protons = Number of electrons

Atoms of elements in a group on the periodic table have similar chemical properties this similarity is most closely related to the atoms?

number of valence electrons

Atoms in the same group on the periodic table have what?

Atoms in the same group (in the same vertical column) of the periodic table have the same number of electrons in their outer shell. A neutral atom has the same number of electrons as it has protons. The number of protons is given by it's atomic number. The electrons are considered to be arranged in "shells." The outermost shell can have from 1 to 8 electrons. The effect of being in the same group is that the atoms within a group have similar reactions.

Electrons or atoms are arranged on the periodic table in the order of increasing?

Atomic number, which is the same as the number of protons in each atom of an element.

Where on the Periodic Table are atoms with 8 outer shell electrons located?

a
