No. But far too many raise the animals in ways that keep their muscles from developing which means not allowing the animal to live normally. It's an ethical problem for many of us: stop eating meat because of how the animal is raised or buy meat from producers who respect the animals and their natural environment. Killing the animal and producing cuts of meat should be done in the most sensitive way possible. Humans are omniverous. We were designed to eat both vegetables and meat. But we also care about the treatment of these beasts that give us food. Personally, I give most (not all but most) of my meat business to companies that raise beef and chicken in an open range and that do not add hormones or antibiotics to the animals' feed. I won't eat veal because of how young calves are kept in order to tenderize the veal meat and I won't eat chicken that wasn't raised in a cage-free, open range environment. You can find these producers if you look; the price per pound is higher but it's worth the extra effort.
Steak is meat- usually from a cow/steer, sometimes from other animals. Animals do not contain wood, and neither does steak. Do not confuse steak (the food) with stake- a slender pointed rod of wood. Like a tent stake.

Geckos are carnivorous animals. Therefore, they can eat steak. It's better that they are fed uncooked steak, as long as the steak is safe to eat.

Yes, normally the term steak refers to beef (cow meat), but occasionally people refer to a similar cut of meat from other animals such a venison (deer) steak.

Hanger steak is different than any other kind of steak because you are required to marinate them in order to cook them properly. If you cook the hanger steak like you cook flap steak, it won't be as good or healthy as a proper cooked hanger steak would be.
it wasn't, it is just grilled meat, since we started cooking animals it has existed
