in fact a baby cow is called a calf, and yes they do drink their mothers milk the first few feedings of milk is called bee-stings its very nutrious for the calf but unsuitable for human consumption, a cows milk is suitable for human consumption 4-5 days after calving(giving birth)

Well, of course they do. They drink water in order to survive. Their children drink their mothers milk. However, they do not drink as in drink alcohol or fizzy drinks or any other liquids apart from that.

In a commercial dairy operation, no, only for a very short period of time. The calves are taken away from their mothers after a day or two so that the cows themselves can be put into production so their milk can be collected and used for human consumption.

However, not ALL dairy cows do not feed their babies! Dairy cows that are kept as family milk cows, nurse cows for a hobby farm or a starter non-commercial cattle herd, or surrogate mothers in a beef operation, indeed they are made able to feed their own offspring, as well as other calves that need her milk as well.
