Grinding noise is metal to metal contact between the brake pads and brake rotor or break shoe and brake drum. Prolonged contact between metal to metal can result in front or rear brake failure.
You would adjust the brakes on a vehicle with abs brakes the same way you would adjust the brakes on a vehicle without abs brakes.
Worn out brakes.
Excessive pressure needed to stop Grinding or scraping sound when brakes are applied Vehicle pulls to one side when stopping
The brake pads are worn out and need to be replaced. The grinding sound means your brakes are about to stop working.
It's hard to diagnose without hearing the noise, but if you're sure that it is not the brakes, it could be dirt/sand/rock in the brakes. If you're hearing the sound all the time (even when not applying the brakes), it could be wheel bearings.
just the abs sensor
Brakes
Depnds on whats causing the noise. The most common grinding noise is from the brakes and fronts average $2-400.00 and rears about the same. This depends on year, make, model etc of the vehicle.
Your pads or discs are worn. The brakes will fail soon if not replaced.
your brakes are about to give out... you should go to wal-mart and have them replace them
If you suspect something, get them checked. If you get vibration while applying the brakes, get them checked. If you get grinding noise from the brakes, get them checked.
Have your brakes checked, rust or wear on brakes can cause grinding when turning.
