Ah!! Do we have ourselves a fellow 2-stroke Motocross rider? :P Well, to answer your question, yes and no. On most cars there can be a point in the rpm's that the acceleration speeds up abruptly. Other cars equiped with turbos have whats called turbo lag which is the time that it takes for the turbo's effect to come into play. And when it does, in a way, the engine gets a boost likened to a power band. Hope this helps!

All engines have a powerband. Vtec's powerbands are just impossible to find.

Can you put a power band in a 4 stroke dirt bike?

All fuel powered engines have a power band. The power band simply refers to the rpm range that the engine makes the most power. Four strokes usually have a wider power band than two strokes.

Does a Yamaha 180 dirt bike have a power band?

All internal combustion engines have a power band. The power band is the point in the rpm range that the engine makes the most power and pulls the hardest. A narrow power band means the engine will make power in a small rpm range. A wide power band means it makes power over a wider rpm range.

Why does your car take off slow then picks up?

All internal combustion engines have what is referred to as a "power band." This is the part of the RPM range that the engine generates the most power. A cars power is rated in two main ways, torque and horsepower (kilowatts in some countries.) Torque is generated primarily at the low end of the RPM range, while horsepower is higher up. Cars that have smaller engines generate less torque and most of their power is in the top end of the RPM range. This means that they move more slowly when they first start moving and accelerate faster as the engine reaches higher rev's. Larger engines with more torque start out more quickly because they can access their power band earlier in the RPM range.

What are all the engines in a car?

There are so many you need a car make and model to tell you what engines are for that? all car engines are of the internal combustion type, fueled by gasoline.
